From the Greater Boston GLBT Ivies and Friends
Meetup Group ...
July 7th will be the 3rd Monthly First Tuesday meetup for the group.
("Meetups" are local events organized through www.Meetup.com software,
and include many alumni & professional events)
We welcome LGBT alunni, faculty and students 21+ who hail from the Ivy
Leagues schools,
the Seven sisters, MIT, Stanford, "the Little Ivies" (Amherst,
Bates, Bowdoin, Colby, Connecticut
College, Hamilton, Haverford, Middlebury, Swarthmore, Trinity, Tufts,
Wesleyan & Williams),
Public Ivies (e.g., University of California, University of
Michigan at Ann Arbor, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill,
University of Texas at Austin, University of Vermont, College of
William & Mary, Miami University [Oxford, Ohio], etc)
and more--as
well as their partners and friends--for social, educational and
professional networking.
The Liberty Hotel is located directly next to Mass General Hospital
and across the street from the Charles Street Red Line T stop. The
hotel has two lounges.
The Alibi Lounge is located on the first floor, which is where we will
meet.
Go through the entrance to the lounge, walk all the way to the end and
then turn left, again to the back corner (essentially facing Mass
General and the T through the windows of the lounge).
This area in that far left corner often works well as a meeting spot.
If the weather turns out to be welcoming, we can then spill out to take
advantage of the venue's outdoor patio. If you have time, check out the
lobby of the hotel, which has been impressively rehab'ed from its
former prison self.
On the First Tuesday of each month the Meetup will be held at a
rotating bar in Boston with an elegant setting.
No drinking is necessary and you can show up later than 6:30 pm if you
wish.
