NYC: Ali Forney Center Youth Discussion & Mentoring, Thurs Sept 30, 2010 7:30 pm

Please come to a night of discussion and mentoring--amid a pizza party--at the Ali Forney Center's Emergency Housing Shelter in Astoria, Queens.
(Accessible via public transportation -- exact method TBA here)

Yale GALA members will meet some of the youth serviced by the Ali Forney Center and share our personal stories of what it was like to be an LGBTI youth.
And they will share some of their stories with us. This will be a facilitated discussion led by Aaron Shipp, Yale '96.

The Ali Forney Center is a NY-based non-profit organization that provides housing, health and social services for homeless LGBT youth.
Clients are aged 16-24. 49% are male, 29% female and 22% transgendered.

WHEN:	Thursday, September 30, 2010 7:30-9:30 PM 7:30 pm: volunteer mini-orientation (Required) 8:00 pm: students arrive 8:30 - 9:30 pm: pizza party and facilitated discussion with youth
WHERE:	Ali Forney Center, Emergency Housing Shelter Astoria, Queens location [Exact street address provided to participants] (Accessible via subway: M or R trains to 46th Street, Queens and then a 4 minute walk from train. Trip takes XX minutes from Manhattan).
COST	No cover. A small donation--to help cover the cost of pizza--is welcome
