Join us for a Farewell to Summer Cycling Event:
Twin Lights Bike Ride
and Post-Ride Get-Together
Highlands (Sandy Hook), NJ

WHEN: Sunday, September 26, 2010
AM Ride (Start time by distance) and get-together after
  9:15-10:30 am for the 30 mile ride
  8:15 - 9:45 am for the 55 mile ride
  7:30 - 8:30 am for the longer rides.   (See website)

If you want to meet up beforehand (optional), please RSVP.  We can meet the ferry at 9:05 and 9:15 (Natasha will wear a pink Martha's Vineyard t-shirt)
  
Or, just meet us at Pam's, for a friendly get-together after.


WHERE:

Ride starts and ends under the Twin Lights.
Drive from NYC or take the Ferry to Highland Connors, NJ.

Ferry: Pier 11, Wall Street & South St, departs 6:30, 8:15 and 8:30Arrive EARLY to board. Reserve 6:30 & 8:30 boats 1-800-BOATRIDE (1-800-262-8743). $45 fee, round trip. Cash only in Manhattan (or reserve)

Also E 35 St & FDR, 8:00 am ferry only.  (No special ride ferries).  Arrive EARLY to board your bike.

We will meet up after the ride, for food, drink & conversation, at the gracious home of Pam.
20 Sunrise Way, Sea Bright, NJ (aka 1566 Ocean Ave, Sea Bright, NJ)
It is 3.5 miles from the end of the bike ride.  Directions (below).  Bike towards water & south, down Shore Drive to Navesink Ave.  Turn right into Ocean Avenue (Rt-36) and ride SOUTH (water on your left) to Sunrise Way & turn right. 
If you see Sunset (next street) you've gone too far, so turn around 1 block.

If you don't want to bike (or you have bike trouble) we can drive you, too.

Bike ride fees: $55 (advance) & $60 (at ride)

The ferry costs $45 -- or you can drive and park at the ride.

Join in on a farewell to Summer Fall cycling event:  The Twin Lights Ride (Sandy Hook, NJ) on Sunday September 26, 2010. 

The ride offers 4 distances (30, 55, 75 and 100 miles) that range from easy to exhilarating (hard) and scenic.

  30 miles / Oceanport Loop
  55 miles / Colts Neck Loop (harder than the 5-Boro Bike Ride)
  75 miles / Manasquan Reservoir Loop
 100 miles / Monmouth Century

You register for 1 distance but have the option to change on the day of the ride. (they are 4 interconnected loops)

The ride is professionally managed by Bike New York, and offers rest areas, support (including SAG vans, for a ride back if you can't make it) and route markings.

A post-ride get together is planned at Pam's house.  Won't start before 1:30 pm.  You don't need to bring anything & there is no charge for it.
