A cocktail reception, (brief) awards program, and fun dance party with 500 women and music by DJ Stacy.
It will be an excellent event and a night of community and celebration.

In celebration of the 40th Anniversary of the Stonewall Riots, the Foundation will honor 40 outstanding women for their contributions to the LGBT community.

Emcee Rosalyn Taylor-O'Neale and short remarks by Ann Northrop and the Honorable Christine Quinn.
(Relax: the program will be brief -- and none of the 40 honorees will be allowed to say anything, at all, to the group. They will simply waive to the crowd, and speak to you, individually, if you wish)

Proceeds from Stonewall Honors will support Stonewall's Racial Equity Initiative, earmarking $300,000 in grants and capacity building resources to
autonomous LGBT people of color organizations in the five boroughs.
The monies raised will match a grant from Funders for Lesbian and Gay Issues, a national consortium of foundations, including the Ford Foundation.

This is primarily a women's event. While men are most welcome, you might prefer Revel 2009 (a young men's donor cocktail & dance party)
on Thurs, Nov 19th, instead: http://www.yalegala.org/Events/RevelNov192009.html
