The Metropolitan Museum is normally closed on Monday nights, but it will open for a special Pride event 6:30-8:30 pm: Regular entry downstairs. Cost: FREE but RSVP REQUIRED 5:30-7:30 pm: VIP Entry & Reception on the Roof with Tony Kushner Cost: $100

One night, two great events. 

The Met is normally closed on Monday nights, but on July 22 it will open for 2 special LGBT Post-Pride Events:

 

I.  The 6th Annual METROPOLITAN MUSEUM OF ART POST-PRIDE Event.

    When: Monday, July 22, 2013.  6:30 – 8:30 pm

    Enjoy a mixer in the Great Hall and private viewings of the exhibitions:

     - Costume Institute’s exhibit - PUNK: Chaos to Couture 

     - Photography and the American Civil War

(Admission is guaranteed to those who buy tickets for the VIP Entry / Members Reception, event II, below). 

 

II. VIP/LGBT Members Reception on the Roof with Tony Kushner 

    When: Monday, July 22, 2013.  5:30 – 7:30 pm.  (Includes entry to event I, above, as well)
   

    Includes reception with Museum President Emily Rafferty, Tony Kushner (Pulizer Prize-winning playwright and screenwriter),     Museum curators, and LGBT members and friends of the museum. 

    Special viewing of The Roof Garden Commission: Imran Quershi on the roof, drinks and hors d’oeuvres.  
    Afterwards, continue the celebration downstairs, at the Special Pride Party, Downstairs.  (Event I, above, included with admission)

    Cost: $100 museum members (limit 2 tickets / member), $200 non-members (includes 1 year membership).
    Benefits the Met and pays for the event.  Most is tax-deductible.
