6th Annual WINTER BREAK LGBTQA Student-Alumni networking event

Career Networking Event for All-Ivy+ LGBTQA Students & Alumni

New York, NY

WHEN: Monday, January 5, 6:30 - 9:00 PM

WHERE: NYC Seminar and Conference Center, 71 W. 23rd Street, NYC

COST: $5 for alumni and professional attendees, no charge ($0) for current students (undergrad and grad), any school
(Current students, choose "Invoice" in the RSVP form and you will not be charged)

ATTIRE: Business casual (nice slacks, blouses, skirts, NO jeans).

LGBT alumni, recent grads, and undergraduate and graduate/professional students are invited to attend a networking event. Whether you are contemplating graduate or professional school, thinking about changing jobs, interested in mentoring or just meeting new LGBT contacts, this event can be helpful to you. The format will begin with career field sector introduction groups (facilitated by an experienced alum), an "open mic" for self-introductions, then open mingling, light refreshments, casual conversations and networking.

About our evenings agenda:

6:30 pm - Arrive, Welcome

6:45 - Introduction Circles. This exercise will group alumni and students by employment sector for brief self-introductions.

7:15 - Short presentations (Ivy campus updates from student leaders, etc.)

7:35 - Open Mic self-introductions (alumni who are hiring, work in multi-disciplinary careers or switched careers, or are in small disciplines).

7:50 - Open Mingling - we will have 4-6 sectors, you pick one in your registration (1-Large/Corporate For-profit, 2-Banking/Finance, 3 Non-profit/Government/Education, 4-Creative careers, 5-STEM, 6-Business General (small companies). You may move among the groups throughout the networking period.

We especially invite all of our Ivy League, Seven Sisters, NYU, Stanford, Duke, UVA, U Chicago, Georgetown, Ithaca College, Northwestern, Amherst, USC & Emory friends. Our friends and loved ones from other schools are welcome as well (they register under “professionals!" Alumni, faculty, staff, and students are welcome.
