June 17, 2026
RSVP: Required, limit 75 people, please RSVP at https://bit.ly/3ynBmiV
Join us at Collective Z downtown to see the group show The Ordinary!
About the Gallery:
Founded by Columbia alum Alex Z. Wang, Collective Z opened on the Lower East Side in early 2026 on a single conviction: that the artists who most deserve to be seen are rarely the ones the market has already decided to celebrate. The gallery is intimate and welcoming, and celebrates diverse voices.
About the Exhibition:
Group Show The Ordinary runs throughout June at Collective Z. It begins with a simple premise: being queer is ordinary. Not invisible. Not assimilated. Not quietly tolerated — ordinary in the sense that it requires no justification, no performance, no special occasion. The works in this exhibition carry that same quality of certainty. They engage — formally and conceptually — with queer experience, arriving with singular points of view that are unmistakable.
Thanks to Alex Z. Wang of Columbia Pride and Shawn Cowls of Queer Princeton Alumni for organizing. We invite all of our LGBTQ friends to attend from all alma maters. Alumni, faculty, staff, and students are welcome! Princeton BTGALA is hosting. We particularly thank the other co-hosting associations, ARC Notre Dame, Brown Alumni Pride Association, Columbia Pride, Cornell Pride, Dartmouth GALA, Harvard GSC, Mount Holyoke Lyon's Pride, NYU LGBTQ+ Alumni Network, Oxford Pride, Penn GALA, Stanford Pride, UChicago Alumni PRIDE and U-Michigan LGBTQ.
